The Union cabinet today
approved 7% hike in DA rate as well as in
DR rate which will benefit about 30 lakhs Central Government Employees and 50
Lakhs pensioners respectively. The revised DA/DR rate will be applicable from
1.7.2014.With such increase, the DA/DR rate will now be 107%. The combined impact on the exchequer on account of both
DA and DR would be about Rs 7,691 crore per annum and Rs 5,127 crore
respectively in the financial year 2014-2015 (for eight months - July-2014 to
February-2015)
